HIGH CATECHIN SENCHA ORGANIC EGCG

Specially developed for us, aromatic organic catechin functional tea with laboratory-tested, high content of the main catechin EGCG. This particularly harmonious Sencha combines a high content of EGCG with the finest Sencha enjoyment - rich in umami, very palatable and both refreshing and grounding and soothing. The subtle bitterness of the catechins unfolds in just the right measure and is reminiscent of asparagus and bitter melon in the aftertaste, but never pushes itself to the fore and is very harmoniously embedded in the overall soupy-vegetal character.The EGCG-rich cultivar Sayamamidori is one of the oldest registered cultivars and originally comes from the Sayama region (Saitama Prefecture) near Tokyo, which is famous for tea. While it served as the basis for the development of many other cultivars, Sayamamidori single cultivar tea is rarely available today - especially outside Japan. Japanese tea stores describe the cultivar as nostalgic and reminiscent of the Showa era (1926-1989) because of the scent of the leaf in the pre-warmed kyusu, reminiscent of tatami rice straw mats, and because of its soothing, comforting aroma.

HIGH CATECHIN SENCHA ORGANIC EGC

Organic catechin functional tea developed especially for us with laboratory-tested, enormously high levels of the main catechin EGC and high total catechin content. Mild and quaffable from third duck from southern cultivar specialist Nuruki Seicha. Notes of hay, grass and vegetal sweetness give this tea a very fresh and stimulating character. To obtain the highest content of EGC, the third harvest of the cultivar "Yutakamidori" was used, and as with other EGC-strong teas, we recommend brewing as a cold brew for the optimal EGC:EGCG ratio. However, this tea is also an exciting treat as a hot brew, where a melange of fruit flavors further enriches the tea while still developing virtually no bitterness.
