Tea Farm

We source this tea from a leading organic tea farm in the region. The area is generally very forested, with a full 83% of the immediate area covered by trees. Due to its high spring water stock, the entire region is under state protection.

Character

Flavour

For this tea, the leaves of the cultivar Zhuyeqi (櫧葉齊) were scented with fresh jasmine blossoms after processing as green tea. The scenting takes place three times in a complex process, each time with fresh flowers, which are then sorted out again. The taste of the infusion is balanced and elegant, with perfectly coordinated, refreshing jasmine aromas.

Jasmine Tea

Traditionally, jasmine tea is made by scenting tea with fresh jasmine blossoms and without adding any aromas. This is still the case today for the high quality of jasmine tea. A Chinese green tea is usually used as the base tea, which, with its fine sweetness and light noble bitterness, harmonizes perfectly with the characteristic, floral-intensive jasmine aroma. Noble jasmine aroma blend creations often use delicate white tea, which, with its natural gentleness, knows how to stage the aromatic richness of jasmine in a particularly special way.

Laboratory Tests

We go to great lengths to identify the finest organic tea farms across the world’s most celebrated terroirs. All our teas are sourced directly from the farmer and, with a few exceptions, are certified organic or come from pesticide-free farms. Each batch of tea for every harvest is tested for pesticides and other pollutants in an independent German lab to ensure they meet our strict quality standards as well as HACCP food safety requirements.

Cultivation & Processing

The tea farm is located remotely near the village of Fuliang in the northeast of Jiangxi province. Important tea growing areas like the famous Qi Men (Keemun) are nearby.
The excellent natural conditions and a particularly humus-rich soil provide the best growing conditions. This is particularly evident in the full aroma of the tea and a very natural, pure taste, as well as an above-average content of amino acids. The jasmine flowers used for fragrance come from the famous "jasmine region" Heng in Guanxi in southwest China. There, these flowers are grown on more than 10 hectares by numerous farmers. Jasmine cultivation has been taking place there for hundreds of years.

Single Origin

This tea is sourced exclusively from the above-mentioned tea plantation in Jiangxi, China. Purchased directly from the producer.
