Uji Tea
Uji tea is known by aficionados for their traditional growing and processing methods, creating teas that retain as much as all of the natural flavour of the fresh tea plant. Our Uji teas range from fresh sencha, creamy matchas, umami-rich gyokuros and tenchas to pleasantly roasted hojichas.
Matcha
Excellent organic matcha from the city of Uji in Kyōto, the top region for matcha. Traditional methods and centuries of experience in matcha production create flavourful aromas and an extremely creamy drinking sensation.
Sencha & Gyokuro
Sencha and gyokuro from Uji, Kyoto are especially known for their rich mountain character and traditional cultivation methods. In terms of taste, they radiate with the most natural flavours and an umami typical of Uji, which comes to the fore especially in the Hon gyokuro, thanks to shading methods proven over generations.
Tencha
Tencha is a heavily shaded green tea whose leaves are completely separated from their stems and leaf veins. The resulting flakes serve as raw material for the ground Matcha green tea. In terms of taste, tencha offers clear parallels to matcha, but arrives less intense.
Hōjicha
Classic organic hojicha from Uji, Kyoto with elegant roasted flavours and a very low amount of caffeine, making them suitable even for evening enjoyment. As a special feature, we offer our hojicha powder, which can simply be stirred into water for drinking. It is also perfect for hojicha lattes and baking.
