Karigane Kukicha

A mild, slightly sweet green tea made mainly from stems and therefore relatively low in caffeine, karigane is nonetheless rich in umami/amino acids. Karigane teas are made from the stems of premium senchas or gyokuros, while kukichas are made from the stems of banchas or simple senchas. We offer classic sencha and gyokuro varieties, as well as fruity flavoured blends and delicately roasted kukicha, all sourced directly from leading tea farms in Japan and tested in a German lab.

Mild karigane blended with high-quality sencha, making for a particularly refreshing tea. Straightforward in flavour with a subtly sweet umami, these low-caffeine green teas are ideal for enjoying in the evening.

Karigane made from high-quality gyokuro, also available dusted with matcha powder. These kariganes are extremely creamy and have distinctly more umami – the luxury version of the "tea of tea farmers".

Highly aromatic karigane blends with completely natural ingredients. The fruity and fresh yuzu blend is a delicious tea either hot or cold, with citrusy notes of grapefruit and orange, while the sakura blend, with organically grown sakura leaves from Japan, has an enticing fruity cherry bouquet as well as an incomparably delicate mouthfeel.

These deep-roasted stem teas are full of warm, toasty notes and a soft sweetness, making them perfect for colder days. The Bō Hojicha are made from the finest stems, which produce a very aromatic infusion, while the very special three year aged Sannenbancha Kukicha has an alkaline mineral character that is packed with polysaccharides.
