Our Tie Guan Yin partner farm is located in the remote hills of Anxi, at an altitude of 600 metres. Since 2012, the farm has followed the highest Chinese cultivation guidelines, consistently relying on pesticide-free farming. Its dedication to sustainable agriculture has made it a role model in the region, and has even earned it official recognition as a demonstration farm for ecological cultivation in China. The farm is not only known for its exemplary cultivation methods, but also for the outstanding, award-winning quality of its teas. At the prestigious Cross-Strait Tea Cultural Contests in 2013 and 2016, its teas were awarded gold and silver medals, and it took first place in the “King of Organic Tie Guan Yin” competition. The location of the farm could hardly be more ideal. Anxi, known as the birthplace of the legendary Tie Guan Yin, offers perfect environment for tea cultivation with its climatic and geological conditions. The average temperature is a pleasant 18°C, and the dramatic temperature fluctuations between day and night help develop the tea's uniquely nuanced flavour. The tea plants also thrive amid the high humidity and dense fog that often envelop this region. One of the region’s defining features is its distinctive red soil. With its slightly higher pH value and abundance of nutrients, this rich, red soil plays a key role in shaping the signature taste of Tie Guan Yin. It is this unique terroir that gives the tea its remarkable depth and complexity, earning it a cherished place in the hearts of tea lovers worldwide.
